It takes 5 nominations to be considered. The nominees will be voted upon by a board of 10 men with 80% approval needed. The nominee must have been a Virginia resident, not just stationed here militarily. The nominee must have been a contributor in one or more of the following ways:
-
SUPER PLAYER:
Dominated his region and/or the state and/or was recognized nationally. Played either singles or doubles. Contributed to the game and helped people when needed. Has a list of tournament wins, not just at home.
-
ORGANIZER/EDUCATOR:
Taught the game endlessly/unselfishly to others as an administrator. Organized and ran events for many years.
-
FINANCIAL CONTRIBUTOR:
Backed many a tournament with financial support and/or time/labor. Played the game but was an important contributor or benefactor of the game.
-
COURT FACILITATOR:
Constructed managed, or operated handball-oriented facilities to the benefit of handball players everywhere.
